Bali Dental Journal — Free and Unrestricted Access to Knowledge

Bali Dental Journal (BDJ) is a fully open-access journal. All published articles are made freely available online immediately upon publication, without any subscription or access fees. BDJ operates under the principle that free and open access to research accelerates scientific progress and benefits society as a whole.

Definition of Open Access

BDJ endorses the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition of open access: all published content is freely available on the public internet, permitting users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles. There are no financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet.

Open access publishing at BDJ is made possible through an Article Processing Charge (APC) model, where authors or their affiliated institutions support the cost of publication. No reader-side fees are ever charged.

Creative Commons License

All articles published in Bali Dental Journal are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Under this license, anyone is free to:

Share

Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format for any purpose, even commercially.

Adapt

Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial use.

Attribution Required: Users must give appropriate credit to the original authors, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. This must be done in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses the user or their use.

Author Rights and Self-Archiving

BDJ supports author rights and self-archiving in accordance with open science principles. Authors retain copyright of their work and grant BDJ the right of first publication. The following self-archiving permissions apply:

Article Processing Charge (APC)

To sustain open-access publication and cover the costs of peer review management, copyediting, typesetting, online hosting, and long-term archiving, BDJ collects an Article Processing Charge (APC) from authors upon acceptance of their manuscript.

The APC is charged only after a manuscript has passed peer review and been formally accepted for publication. Submission of a manuscript does not incur any fee. Authors who experience financial hardship may apply for an APC waiver or reduction by contacting the editorial office prior to submission.

No Submission Fees: BDJ does not charge any fees at the submission stage. All manuscripts are evaluated on scientific merit regardless of the author's ability to pay.

Long-term Preservation and Accessibility

BDJ is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published content. The journal takes measures to ensure that all articles remain permanently accessible by:

DOI Assignment

Every article is assigned a persistent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) via Crossref.

Digital Archiving

Published content is archived in digital preservation repositories to ensure permanence.

OJS Platform

The journal is hosted on Open Journal Systems (OJS) to maintain stable, long-term access.

For questions regarding the Open Access Policy or APC waivers, please contact the Editorial Office at drgputrirejeki@unud.ac.id. BDJ's open access policy is aligned with the guidelines of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
